Wife of the Acting President of Nigeria, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, Executive Governor of Imo State, Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha, Founder of Big Church Foundation, Dr Olakunle Churchill and other leaders joined Rochas Okorocha's Daughter, Mrs Uloma Rochas Nwosu in Owerri to launch her charity organisation, Elfreeda Foundation. Mrs Uloma Nwosu said the foundation "will focus on providing shelter for homeless women and giving children a Basic Need Initiative.
Actress Oge Okoye, Alex Ekubo and Ngozi Ezeonu of Nollywood were also present at the Elfreeda Foundation launch. About 500 other guests from different parts of the country were also in Owerri for the launch.
In her speech, Mrs Osinbajo said: "For any country to achieve meaningful development, its citizens must have required necessities to drive the economic potentials. If I was homeless, I wouldn't have achieved so much in life.
Dr Churchill commended Mrs Uloma Nwosu for embarking on such initiative, it worries me a lot about the level of homelessness we currently have in the country, thank you for being an outstanding pillar of support to the needy, he added.
Mrs Uloma Nwosu who spoke to journalists at Trade & Investment Center Owerri, prior to the launch, said the foundation would focus on four major areas – providing shelter for the homeless, Food Bank Provision, Thrift Store and Counseling.
