DRUG ABUSE CAMPAIGN; Tagwaye Charity Foundation Heats Up Awareness in FCT
In Nigeria, drug abuse has posed a bizarre threat to the physiological capacity and efficiency of human resources. Meanwhile, Tagwaye Charity Foundation in collaboration with Elizabeth Jarich foundation have continued to heat up their fight against drug abuse, as the foundations commenced a long walk in the FCT to raise a responsive campaign against drug abuse, especially amongst teens, youths and few adults in Nigeria.
The long walk was joined by several Lagos celebrities, Abuja based entertainers, politicians and top executives in the the private sector including groups like AbujaMoms, OMC Clan, Tonto Dikeh Foundation, Help Keep Clean Foundation etc. The crowd matched around the central business district of the Nigeria federal capital city, carrying placards and banners with inscription like "say no to drug abuse", "save our tomorrow today", "let's walk the talk", "speak and stand against drug abuse".
The match which was tagged "Drug Abuse Campaign" seeks to present a visionary approach to a better future for Nigeria as the fast increasing rate of drug addiction and abuse requires an immediate intervention. Tagwaye Charity foundation has however taken a bold step to curb the menace.
Tagwage foundation has been forthcoming in her charity works to improve the value of humanity and also put smiles on the faces of the those who are disadvantaged. Her works cuts across healthcare, empowerment, and socioeconomic campaigns. The foundation have been very active in Northern Nigeria, especially the FCT with move to extend the campaign to Lagos state
Yesterday's "walk awareness campaign" against drug abuse will help initiate a development process that will curtail all sort of hard drug consumption, addiction and abuse.
Speaking to journalists, The convener of the initiative, Prince UC said that the rate of involving elders, youths, children and women is worrisome and must be tackled head long so as to contend this destructive vice especially on our children and women who defines the structure of our nation's future.
'We are optimistic that the fight will be a fruition if it is supported by the government, International organizations, corporate agencies and well meaning Nigerians" he added.
