COMEDIAN OF THE MONTH: The Rise And Rise Onwunarugwu Ndubuisi Joseph aka SHORTCUT (Photos)

Onwunarugwu Ndubuisi Joseph popularly known as Shortcut is a professional standup comedian, master of ceremony, actor and event promoter based in Abuja. He is the eldest of two sons from a family of four. He hails from Arochukwu Local Government Area in Abia state but grew up in Abuja under the watchful eyes of his parents Mr & Mrs Ndubuisi Onwunarugwu.

According to Shortcut, his story will not be complete without acknowledging the role his parents played in his growth as a comedian. Comedy to him came natural because his parent also had a high sense of humor and loved entertainment too, as the saying goes blood is thicker than water.

Shortcut's love for comedy and entertainment all started back in secondary school. He was seen as the school clown by both teachers and students, little did he know that he would one day be played to make people laugh.

The name Shortcut could be attributed to his speedy growth in the entertainment industry in Abuja and Nigeria as a whole because his comedic reputation has continued to grow as he has made major impact and appearances on virtually all the big shows and concerts across the country and beyond. His exceptional performances at comedy shows, pageantry and musical concerts like Night of a Thousand Laughs, AY Live, Miss Ambassador For Peace, Klint Da Drunk and friends, just to mention but a few has made him a favourite in the hearts of so many lovers of stand-up comedy.

Just after his secondary education he kicked off his career by winning several amateur comedy competitions throughout Nigeria culminating in his first real break in 2010 when he came out tops in a National comedy challenge organised by‎ the pioneer of modern day stand-up comedy show in Nigeria, Mr Opa Williams.

He didn't stop there, in 2012 and 2013 he still went on to be part of Peak Talent Show and other major shows that was aired on top TV stations all over Nigeria. His genres of comedy, surreal humour, Nigerian politics, current events, everyday life, marriage, parenting and African culture has made his stand up session one to always look out for. In just a few years of continuous hard work on his part he has managed to properly study and master the act of stage performance and very articulate presentation. Presently, he is seen as one of the most sort for comedian in the Federal Capital terriory and beyond.

We are proud to say that in the nearest future Shortcut would be a force to reckon with in the world of entertainment both in Nigeria and the world at large.
