Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ahmed left the ruling APC alongside Senate President Bukola Saraki who announced his defection on his official Twitter handle @bukolasaraki.
Ahmed also announced his defection using his official Twitter handle @AbdulfataAhmed.
He said his decision to join the PDP follows consultations with major stakeholders.
"Following consultations and in response to calls by major stakeholders in the state, I have moved to the PDP as APC can no longer serve as a platform for achieving the aspirations and expectations of my people," Ahmed's tweet read.
