Democracy Heroes Award To Honour Impacful Nigeria Leaders This October

As we just celebrated the national Independence Day, we would also be glad to recognise the significant efforts of democratic agents, who have continue to fight tirelessly for the sustenance of our 59th year in democracy, as Nigeria gets ready to decorate the newly emerged Democracy Heroes of our time at the 2019 Democracy Heroes Award, holding on the 16th of October at Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

The 7th edition of Democracy Heroes Awards will be recognising the resolute contributions of leaders across all government institutions who have made epoch impact in the advancement and sustainability of democracy in Nigeria. 

The grand award ceremony will recognise several personalities across several award categories which includes, "Man of the Year", "Icon of the Year", "Best Performing Governor of the Year", "Promising Governor of the Year", "Law maker of the Year", "First Lady of the Year" and about 30 other award categories.

According to Fajag Ajagbonno, the President and CEO of Face of Democracy Nigeria(FDN), he told newsmen during a press briefing yesterday that the occasion of the seventh edition of Democracy Heroes Awards will be quite competitive, as the faith of nominees would be decided by Nigerians through the voting exercise. Stressing that the vox-pop is the credible channel through which Awardees will be confirmed for the distinguished and prestigious honour.

He also noted that the event will also witness some educative presentations and performance that chronicles the history and challenges of Nigeria through its 59years in democracy. He appreciated the efforts of partnering organizations, especially the media, for their earnest efforts towards the forthcoming epoch event. However, the occasion will commence with the red carpet shoots at 6:00pm, while the main event will officially kickstart at 8:00pm on wednesday, 16th October.
