The Nigeria Police has reiterated its resolve to be firm and decisive against miscreants and criminal elements in Anambra State in next week’s governorship election.
Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Echeng Echeng who stated this during a Press Briefing at the State Police Headquarters, Anambra, noted that officers and men of the command are dominating all parts of Anambra to boost security ahead of the election.
Mr. Echeng emphasized that there has been robust synergy with sister security agencies, including vigilante groups and deployment of the State intelligence asset for optimum security, as the Inspector-General of Police Mr Baba Usman has deployed additional personnel and asset including helicopters, gun and patrol boats and operational vehicles for effective security during the election.
He assured Ndi Anambra of their safety urging them to without fear exercise their civic responsibility on the election day, as only those who want to cause trouble will be dealt with, within the ambits of the law.
Kenechukwu Chukwudi reports that Mr Echeng urged Ndi Anambra and residents to report crime and criminal elements, as the command will handle such in the most professional way.
