N89trn stamp duties: Group calls for Gudaji Kazaure’s suspension

The Arewa Youth Assembly, AYA, has called for the immediate suspension of a member of the House of Representatives representing the Kazaure, Roni, Gwiwa, Yankwashi Constituency of Jigawa State, Gudaji Kazaure, for abuse of his office by misleading Nigerians with the allegedly missing N89 trillion stamp duties siphoned by some cartels.

The youths also called for the suspension of Brekete Radio by the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, for airing fake news even after it had been rejected and debunked by the presidency.

Alhaji Ali Muhammad, Publicity Secretary of Arewa Youth Assembly, in a statement issued on Sunday in Kaduna, lamented that

in the last few days, the media has been awash with the news of missing N89 trillion stamp duties allegedly siphoned by some cartel started, originated, and circulated by Gudaji Kazaure, saying that an incorrect, misguiding and fake news as was earlier debunked by the President’s Spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu.

The statement further lamented that to the amazement of Nigerians, instead of Gudaji Kazaure doing what was right by apologizing to the public for misinforming them, he went further to speak to a so-called human rights radio (The Brekete family radio) owned and coordinated by Ahmed Isah who claims to be the ordinary president.

It stated that on the radio, Gudaji Kazaure, aided and supported by Ahmed Isah, spread what it called “all sorts of lies and allegations” against the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor and other prominent Nigerians and spoke in all sorts of manners and gave an ultimatum to the CBN Governor to appear in a common radio house as if they were a legally constituted authority one such as a competent court of law.

“All this disrespect and mockery were made over false and unverified information, continuously discredited by more reliable sources. One such is that Nigerian postal services NIPOST through its Post Master General, distanced itself from the revenue collected on its behalf by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other commercial banks in the name of stamp duty, stating that it is not aware of anything as such, that it accounts were created under the TSA account and monies were paid and duly accounted for,” the statement explained.

The statement noted that Gudaji Kazaure had been compromised, hunted by his political past. The fear of new policies initiated by the CBN, saying that he has constantly presented himself as a rumour monger, a member who has drailed from what he was elected to do, rather, is pursuing a course that never existed, failing to represent his people but bringing them shame.

It alleged that it has proven that the so-called human right radio (The Brekete Radio) is not pursuing the course of true Nigeria, not abiding by the provisions and act guiding media operations in Nigeria, as it has continued to connive with Gudaji Kazaure to air a piece of information that is not true, has since been debunked by credible sources.
