MUST-READ: The Owerri Zone and Tony Nwulu Factor .... Who will bell the cat???

Owerri Zone has been very busy with the agitation of marginalization in the governorship equation of Imo State. Precisely, they say they have been shortchanged and that it is their turn now to produce the governor of the state in 2019.

This agitation from Owerri Zone is not new, but the strategy has remained the same. Despite the unchanging strategy, Owerri Zone has not been able to identify the right channel or route to their eldorado. And if the zone believes that all road lead to the same place, then they should have more cause for worry.

To buttress this,  Best Mbanaso, a two-time commissioner in Imo State in the Rochas Okorocha administration, who recently fell out with the governor over his advice against the planned succession in the state, In an interview insisted that the Owerri zone should be allowed to govern the state in the principle of fairness.

In his words "I can say that they have not even ruled under a democratic setting. Evan Enwerem ruled the military which was only for a period of 18 months (one year and six months). So, for me, for the sake of equity and justice, Owerri zone should have it this time around; since 1998 till date Owerri is the state capital; and they have not produced the governor of Imo State. So, for me I said, no; I stand for an Owerri man to be the governor of Imo State"

Apart from obvious inability to identify the right channel, it is unfortunate that despite their large size (9 local governments) and strategic position, Owerri Zone has remained weighed down by disunity, blackmail, backstabbing and the pull him down syndrome. Traits like these among brothers do not enhance their welfare but diminishes their collective efforts to a common goal, because it quickly builds fear and distrust instead of enhancing confidence and fortitude. But for whatever reason, Owerri Zone finally has a chance of electing the next Governor in the forthcoming election as their illustrious son, Hon. Tony Chinedu Nwulu, a native of Eziudo, Ezinihitte in Mbaise is already a leading contender in the 2019 Imo Gubernatorial Race.

He proved his mettle as an astute politician when he broke ethnic cleavages prevalent in Nigerian politics to win Isolo/Oshodi Federal House of Representatives seat in Lagos State, the Not Too Young To Run Bill Sponsor, Hon. Tony Nwulu plans and agenda for Imo State is next to none as he is determined to make Imo good for the benefit for all.

Imo state is highly indebted and the state currently needs a messiah who has capacity like the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Capital Market, out of his love for commitment and a better lmo, Nwulu accepted the call from Imo Youths to run for Gubernatorial Post in Imo state come 2019.

Hon. Nwulu has a development plan that will change Imo State, his sector by sector analysis of the challenges facing Imo State, from Agriculture to the Health sector, to human capacity development which is seriously lacking in the State, to infrastructure and many others he has a plan and soon he shall unveil them for the people to see. Already he has assembled the best brains available that will aid our efforts to get it right. The Federal lawmaker already interacted with a vast segment of Imolites, those who have excelled in various fields of human endeavour to work with him in fixing Imo. Even at the moment, the gubernatorial ambition of the Owerri son is boasted with the planned influx of UPP by thousands of aggrieved and factional members of APGA and APC in IMO as the only alternative party to beat come 2019.

Hon. Tony Nwulu has proven to be an investment driven leader by visiting United Kingdom, Belgium and other countries to attract investors to Imo State, Nwulu's administration will go into partnership to have an Independent Power Plant to compliment what Imo State gets from the National Grid to boost electricity in the State.

Youths all over Imo have stood firm in making Tony Nwulu their preferred candidate for the forthcoming election and God has finally answered the prayers of Owerri People.
