Atiku Group Endorse Tony Nwulu For Imo Guber

After a careful assessment and scrutiny of multitude of governorship candidates aspiring to be Imo State Governor in 2019, the major group backing the presidential ambition of former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar in Imo State, The Atiku Action Group, have rolled out drums of support for United Progressive Party, UPP governorship candidate in the State, Hon. Tony Nwulu.

The group made the endorsement during a visit to Nwulu at his Owerri country home on Wednesday, 20th February, 2019.

The latest endorsement adds up to series of similar support for Nwulu, who has suddenly become the beautiful bride in Imo politics as it relates to the upcoming governorship election in the State scheduled to hold on March 9, 2019.

The endorsement is also coming Nwulu's way after similar political associations embedded in various political parties had indicated support for the 40 year old Federal lawmaker whose governorship ambition is sharply changing the political narrative in Imo State barely a week to the titanic governorship election.

Having also received endorsements to his aspiration from several socio political groups across the State including the Yoruba and Hausa Community in the State, Nwulu's political flexibility earned had him a special interactive session with President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC Presidential Candidate who had during his visit to Owerri recently urged voters in Imo State to vote for candidates of their choice across party lines.

Political analysts contend that this signposts the fact that Nwulu is an acceptable candidate found worthy of support by various political associations in various political parties due to his track records and glaring capacity to run the affairs of the State plagued by irresponsible governance in the last eight years.

At the endorsement by the Atiku Action Group, Imo State chapter which vowed to support Nwulu's governorship, the group stated that it has resolved to endorse the UPP governorship candidate based on his consistent and strong belief on the youths and the poor masses.

They recalled how Nwulu has promised to appoint 80% of Imo youths in his cabinet, stating that his administration when elected into office will introduce a fresh air in government which will lead to an end to recycling old politicians in governance.

In his remarks, the UPP governorship candidate promised that he will get Imo State working again by advertising the appointment of Commissioners to enable the best the State can assemble to aid him run the affairs of the State.

He said the appointments will be transparent as applicants irrespective of political party affiliation are free to apply and if deemed fit by an international recruitment agency that would manage the process would be so appointed in his cabinet.

He noted that the State has suffered immensely from bad governance which has led to a huge debt profile that has made the State a laughing stock. He said as a result of this ugly trend, the State has been plagued by underdevelopment leading to high poverty rate, high unemployment among the youths, unpaid pensions to pensioners and to workers.

He said "Imo State would have been autioned if it would have been a property due to its high debt profile which is unimaginable

He enumerated his road map for a better Imo State which formed the theme of his campaign slogan, Mezie Imo, which implies making Imo State better again and placing the State on the path of economic rejuvenation where the welfare and prosperity of the people will be guaranteed.

Nwulu noted that he is overwhelmeled by the endorsement by the Atiku Action Group in the State which he described as a major boost to his aspiration.
