The Independent National Electoral Commission, has extended voting hours in units where voting did not commence on schedule.
Festus Okoye,the INEC National Commissioner, said this while briefing the press.
It is extending the voting hours by the number of hours the process was delayed.
Festus Okoye National Commissioner with the Independent National Electoral Commission and Chairman of its Information and Voter Education Committee told news men that from the INEC Situation Room, they are monitoring the process across the country.
He gave the update on the opening of polls and commencement of voting in some states across.
He said at 12 noon today, this is how some of the states have performed in terms of the opening of the polls and commencement of voting.

He said they are resolving all issues that have caused the delay in the opening of polls which included security issues and challenges with transportation of election materials
"voting process has been extended by the number of hours it was delayed. That means if the polls opened at 12 rather than at 8am, voting in such unit will be extended by 4 hours.", he said.
