In the recent outbreak of coronavirus, also known as COVID-19 in
Nigeria, some Nigeria elites, both individuals and organizations, have
been donating money, food items, equipment etc.
Aham Okorocha, the son of former Imo state governor, senator Rochas
Okorocha under fire from some sections of Imolites for giving relief
materials to Nasarawa state people leaving a state that made them what
they are today.
Giving food to people is not a bad thing, but they say charity begins
at home. His father, who is a senator, has not even donated anything to
his constituents, even with the lockdown due to the virus.
Many people in Imo state are suffering, you are from Imo state, your
father was the governor there, making the people of Imo state your
people. He went to Orozo in Nasarawa to share food items for people.
See his statement on twitter: we all have a role to play in the fight
against COVID-19, but to be successful we also have to combat hunger
which is by far the greatest threat to life.
In line with the United Nations SDG 1 & 2, we have to ensure that families in various communities can feed.
He is the son of Imo State senator that went to nassaraw state to share food items, leaving imo citizens behind, not fair.
