Nigerian Army Denies News Of 386 Soldiers Quiting Due To "Loss Of Interest"


News making rounds that 386 soldiers in front line of the fight against the Boko Haram insurgents have disengaged themselves from the Nigerian Army is false, the Nigerian Army has said.

The Nigerian Army on Saturday evening, took to it different verified social media pages to debunk the news, saying the fake news was fabricated by supporters of Boko Haram fighters and designed to damped the morale of the gallant and patriotic soldiers.

Recall that, it was widely reported on Saturday morning, that "386 soliders fighting Boko Haram insurgents have disengaged themselves from the Nigerian Army.

"The army is currently engaged in various combat operations as insecurity worsens across the country.

"Many of the soldiers are among the troops engaged in the decade-long war against Boko Haram in the Northeast, while others are from various other formations across the country."

According to, the Nigerian Army the 386 soldiers who left the Army disengaged in to normal routine at the end of their service.

The Nigerian Army also emphasised that, it has never at any point in time sorth of Nigerians willing to join its ranks, saying about 4600 patriot recently joined the Army of which a larger percentage of them joined the Special Forces fighting Boko Haram.
