In every gubernatorial election year, political parties are constitutionally entitled to elect/nominate their candidates for governorship. Ahead of the Anambra election slated to hold on November 6, the State ruling party, All Progressives Grand Alliance-APGA has fixed its primary for June 23.
Across Nigeria, ndi-Anambra are jubilating, with tears of joy and relief as their son Professor Chukwuma Soludo CFR; one of the most intelligent man and Nigerian Economics Professor, former Chief Economic Adviser to former President Obasanjo and Chief Executive of the National Planning Commission of Nigeria, former Governor and Chairman of the Board of Director s of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), on Tuesday, officially joined the race to contest for the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
Cee-Cee Soludo whom on Tuesday, June 1, visited the party's Headquarters in Abuja where he bought the APGA Nomination and Expression of Interest Form to officially join the race after due consultation and endorsements by larger population of ndi-Anambra, had emerged as favorite to succeed the incumbent, Chief (Dr.) Willie M. Obiano when he must have completed his second and final term as Anambra State Governor by the first quarter of 2022 and bow out with his lovely wife, Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano.
He declared his interest when on February 8, he visited the state party secretariat where he made known his intention to kick-start consultation with stakeholders including; national, state, local government and ward leadership of the party, government political appointees, Transition Committee Chairmen and others.
On his acceptance to the clarion call by ndi-Anambra, it's evidential that his political aspiration which cut across political parties with support of over twenty-four (24) grassroot movements have gotten a
desired backing and support needed to win an election. Notwithstanding that majority has called for his "Consensus Candidate", Soludo represents a true definition of a loyal and committed party man who has distinguished himself as a member Board of Trustee by dedicating his vast experiences in strengthening the intra-party democracy. As favorite aspirant, his consistency, aged-long loyalty, allegiance and services to both his party and the state are added advantage.
Yes, this time, Soludo Solution will win. As the party's preferred candidate, he would not only be campaigning on the strength of his personality, competencies, proven character, pragmatism, excellence and innovative, he shall wholeheartedly stand on the strength of APGA continuous achievements in all the 181 communities in the state.
Wherein a successful transition shall be ideal, the ever prepared gubernatorial hopeful, "Ifeanacho" who is known for his practical approaches, innovative ideas and solutions to issues of economic challenges, remains the choice to consolidate on governor Obiano's approaches on cushioning the effects of recession and sustaining the ease of doing businesses amidst economic challenges and deepening of opportunities.
Fair enough, It is true that our great party; the third largest political party in Nigeria and the state ruling party, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has other aspirants that are capable to become the next governor after Chief (Dr.) Willie Obiano, but among all the masquerades in the square, Soludo is the Ijele.
