BBNaija Season 6’s Queen, IK Ogbonna Tapped to Host AIWRA

Abuja, Nigeria, Monday, November 21, 2021. BBNaija Season 6 housemate, Queen Mercy Atang, popularly known as Queen and ace Nollywood Actor, IK Ogbonna will be playing host to the African Iconic Women Recognition Awards, AIWRA and Face of Democracy Brain Pageant 2021 billed to hold at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on December 16, 2021.


This was disclosed in a press statement issued and signed by the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of FDN Projects, Mr. Funsho Ajagbonna on the heels of unveiling contestants for the Face of Democracy Brain Pageant 2021 in Abuja and flagging off the voting process.  

According to Ajagbonna, the choice of the duo celebrities, IK Ogbonna and Queen, is premised on the strategic fit between the combined star power of their individual brands and the essence of AIWRA to identify and recognize African women leaders who have made immense contribution in the socio-economic and political landscape of their countries and impressed an indelible footprint of impeccable performances in various fields of endeavors in the Sub-Saharan West Africa. 


“The days when women are relegated to domestic functions only are over. Today, women have made indelible footprints in all works of life, contributing immensely to the betterment of society, hence AIWRA is designed to identify, recognize, and honor these crops of women in Africa and Nigeria in particular, who are leading, and serving as advocates for change both in the private and public sectors and BBNaija Season 6 housemate, Queen have exemplified leadership in many ways through her charity work and her foray at the just concluded reality TV show. Teaming up with IK Ogbonna, the duo will no doubt anchor the event with unmatched professionalism” Ajagbonna stressed.


Speaking further, he said that Queen who is a former contestant of the FDN Pageant in 2013 is bringing onboard her experience over the years into anchoring the event. He said the guest profiles cut across women in government, diplomatic corps and corporate business environment.
