JUST IN: 4 Months After Labour Party Members Protest Dissapearance of Anambra Governorship Candidate
Supporters of the Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), in the just concluded November 6, 2021 Anambra gubernatorial election, Mr. Obiora Agbasimalo, on Wenesday, blocked the State Government House, by Enugu-Onitsha expressway, Awka, in protest over dissapearance of it candidate.
The protesters appealed to the state governor, Willie Obiano, to intervene and not to treat the situation as a political matter, while urging the Police and other security agencies in the state to intensify their action on the situation.
Speaking at the protest, One of the supporters, Comrade Stanley Okoli, who addressed the about 300 supporters who turned up for the protest said the protest will continue until their guber candidate is free from his abductors.
"Agbasimalo is a citizen of Anambra state, Governor Obiano, as the Chief Security Officer of the state should not look at the matter as a political affair, he should urgently intervene." he appealed.
Agbasimalo is said to have gone missing for the past four months, with his disappearance is said to be fuelling a lot of speculations among party supporters in the state.
When contacted the state police spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, via telephone, on the update, he said the Command under CP Echeng Echeng, was yet to be briefed on the incident.
