OCI Foundation Takes ArOY Health Campaign Bill To Nigeria's National Assembly

An OCI Foundation’s proposal seeking to integrate anti-breast and anti-cervical cancer teachings into the curriculum of all senior secondary schools in Nigeria has been submitted to Nigeria’s National Assembly, NASS.

The Bill is being sponsored by Hon Dr Tanko Sununu (Chairman, House Committee on Healthcare Services),  and  co-sponsored by Hon Prof Julius Ihonvbere (Chairman, House Committee on Basic Education), both of the Nigerian House of Representatives, and has the support of the Distinguished Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Uba of the Nigerian Senate.

This Bill is being championed by the OCI Foundation, in collaboration with the Office of the Nigerian First Lady (and her NGO, the Future Assured Foundation), the Nigerian Cancer Society,  the First Ladies Against Cancer, the Sweet Home Africa Humanitarian Foundation, Amity Global Services, and FIDA (International Federation of Women Lawyers).

The Bill is part of the OCI Foundation’s Arm Our Youths Health Campaign, part of which is currently being delivered across all of the NYSCs 37 orientation camps in Nigeria.

The OCI Foundation looks forward to the Bill being listed for hearing, and to a smooth and speedy passage.

The Foundation is also very grateful to all its partners and associates, who have helped push this life-saving initiative this far.

 We rise, by lifting others.

Mr Charles C. OKOH

Executive Assistant to the OCI Foundation’s President
