Group Urges APC Delegates To Vote Entertainer 'Youngest Old Man' As Candidate For Etsako Fed Constituency

A socio-political group, Etsako Grassroot Mobilization Network has drummed support for emergence of comedian and Entertainment Entrepreneur, Roland Igbadumhe, better known as Youngest Old Man as candidate of APC for Etsako Federal Constituency of Edo state.

They said he possesses the qualities the people need at a time like this to move the constituency forward, adding that he has the appeal, network and track record to link the constituency to national politics.

In a statement on Monday, leader of the group, Agbudumeh Nelson therefore called on delegates of the APC for the constituency to massively vote for Youngest Old Man to fly the flag of the party ahead of the 2023 general election, expressing optimism that it will be the dawn of a new era in the constituency.

He said, "This is a clarion call on the delegates for Etsako Federal Constituency to vote a young man with vision and agility to represent our people. They must as a matter of service to our people key into this great vision.

"Our son, Roland Igbadumhe, better known as Youngest Old Man is a fulfilled professional in the entertainment industry who has carved a niche for himself. He has the appeal even beyond our constituency to make visible changes for the benefit of our people.

"We are also optimistic that this will usher in a period when our people will enjoy closeness to the federal government of APC with Roland as a point of contact" he said.

Youngest Old Man who is said to be the youngest aspirant in Edo State APC is a popular face in the entertainment industry.

He was a senior special adviser on Entertainment to the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, a position he capitalised on to attract development projects to his Ward 9, comprising Imiegba, Itsukwi and Imiakebu communities.

He is anchoring his campaign on accessibility, fair representation, health care & education, women and youth empowerment, care and welfare for the aged.

Though this is not the first time he is making attempts to represent his people, he insists he is more determined now.

In 2019, he was the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, but lost his bid to represent the Etsako East constituency following the declaration of Kingsley Ugabi of the All Progressives Congress, APC winner of the election.

Born to the late James Ebui Igbadume, a school principal and an alumnus of the University of Ibadan, Roland started off as a comedian at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, providing top-notch entertainment on campus and neighbouring communities.
