After an early-morning gunfight in Abuja, police find stolen vehicles

Early on Friday morning, according to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, agents engaged bandits with gunfire.

In a statement, DSP Josephine Adeh, Public Relations Officer, revealed that items seized included stolen automobiles.

At around two in the morning, the police responded to a cry for help from Kapuwa in Abuja's Lugbe neighborhood.

Officers from the Lugbe Division were made aware that a 15-man gang was operating inside of a compound.

Adeh said that tactical and intelligence resources had been sent to the area.

After the robbers fled after taking personal items from the said house, the operators arrived.

The crooks confronted them in a gunfight, but they were defeated by the stronger firepower.

The police recovered every single item that had been first taken when they fled with varying degrees of injuries, she claimed.

Five televisions, eight pairs of shoes and garments, a Peugeot 307 with the registration MKA496BC, a Honda Accord with the registration BWR778BK, and other items were retrieved.

A laptop, four ATM cards, an iPad, a Playstation, two gaming pads, and an Apple watch are among the additional items.

Residents were given assurances by Commissioner of Police Babaji Sunday that the FCT will be protected by new security measures and an unwavering commitment.

The leadership instructed locals to exercise caution and use the emergency reporting hotlines of 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 0802894088.
