JKKHANOBA Foundation pays WAEC fees for 30 students

A non-governmental organisation, JKKHANOBA Foundation has paid West African Examination Council (WAEC) enrollment fees for 30 students of Imiegba Grammar School, Imiegba, Edo State.

A statement issued by the Foundation on Wednesday, said the gesture was in appreciation of the life of Chief Jerome Kasimu Khanoba who will clock 88 years on the 8 of February 2023.

While saying the beneficiaries were identified by the school’s authorities as the remainder of Senior Secondary School (SSS) 3 students unable to enrol for this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination, the statement said the Foundation was put in place by children of the renowned educationist as a platform for intervention in critical areas of need in Imiegba community and Three Ibie Clan of Etsako East Local Government Area.

The statement reads in full : “The JKKHANOBA Foundation today, paid the enrollment fees for the Thirty (30) students in SS3 at the Imiegba Grammar School (IGS), Imiegba identified by the school authorities as the remainder of the class unable to afford the enrollment fees.

” To the Glory of God; in appreciation of the life of Chief Jerome Kasimu Khanoba; as Thanksgiving for the Blessings of God upon the Children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all the descendants of the Chief J. K. Khanoba the Agbokhewe of Three Ibie Clan who turns 88 years on the 8 of February 2023 his children and descendants have set up a foundation to be known as the JKKHANOBA Foundation.

“This foundation shall be a vehicle for intervention in critical areas of need in the Imiegba Community, in particular and Three Ibie Clan in general. For a start the identified areas of intervention by the Foundation shall be in the sectors of Education and Community Development in recognition of the status of Chief J. K. Khanoba as a foremost Educationist and community mobiliser.”

Recall that Chief J. K. Khanoba, a former headteacher and community leader, also served at different times as member of Edo State Post Primary Education Board and The Institute of Continuing Education, Benin City.
