A chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP),Ali Madaki is currently in the custody of the Kano police command over illegal possession of firearms.
It was gathered bthat Madaki was invited for questioning by the police on Wednesday.
The police spokesperson in Kano, Haruna Abdullaahi confirmed the development to TheCable on Thursday morning.
Abdullahi said Madaki is still in police custody and that an investigation is ongoing.
Madaki is the house of representatives member-elect for Dala federal constituency of Kano.
