Fuel Subsidy Destroys Our Shared Future: FBI Oyefeso Backs Tinubu On Subsidy Removal

2019 Ogun State Governorship Candidate Oyefeso Flexbaniel Blessing Ismail, ourge president Bola Ahmed Tinubu not go go back on the fuel subsidy removal but to hastens the on going consultation and put out the right policy incentives that will support and ameliorate the reality of subsidy removal on common man on the street.

Record has shown that about 70 million litres of fuel are consumed daily by Nigeria’s estimated 200 million people.

Subsidy payments have always been thwarted by corruption and a lack of fiscal transparency. In 2012, a 200-page report released by a parliamentary inquiry uncovered a $6bn fraud, involving officials at the state-run Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) alone.

An average of 11.7 trillion naira ($26bn) was spent to subside PMS between 2016-2023 alone, that same amount if used judiciously can build 2 state of the art healthcare facilities at $16 million dollars each in the 774 LGA's or change the education facade of our institution.

Moreso, it's imperative to know that Nigeria government balance sheet over the years is burden with the excessive FX required to import premium motor spirit and subsidize at about 250%, and according to world bank 2022 report " resources being expended on subsidy could be channeled to other sectors of the economy to accelerate growth"

We can not continue to do the same thing as a people and expect different result; thus, to accelerate growth and development for the new Nigeria that we desire, we must all be ready to sacrifice and adjust to the new reality of subsidy removal which is endemic to our growth and national development.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu needs our support as citizen to rekindle our hope for future prosperity - Hon F.B.I. Oyefeso, the executive Director/National President of Nigeria Youths in Politics reiterate his unflinching support to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, " I call on the progressive youth of Nigeria, irrespective of your political affiliation to team up with us in advocacy to back the subsidy removal regime once and for all"

Nigeria Youths In Politics and partners, will commence a nationwide advocacy and sensitization to educate Nigerian on the important of subsidy removal, we shall engage all and sundry in a robust discourse that will enable the common man understand the advantages of subsidy removal to our economy development. .

We stand solidly behind the removal because we know that fuel subsidy If not removed now, will end up destroy our shared future and truncate the campaign promises of the Renewed Hope agenda.

The time is now, let's do it.

God bless Nigeria
