Oluremi Tinubu, Wife of Nigeria’s President, Makes First Official Appearance at First Lady’s Office

Today, Monday, June 5, marked a significant milestone as Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of Nigeria's President, Bola Tinubu, made her first official appearance at the office of the First Lady.

Mrs. Tinubu's visit to the First Lady's office was met with a warm reception by the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Tijjani Umar, and other Heads of Units in the First Lady's Office.

Accompanied by her security aides, Mrs. Tinubu was taken on a tour of the various offices within the First Lady's wing, including the Administrative, ICT, Catering, Media, and Protocol Units.

This visit signifies Mrs. Tinubu's active involvement and engagement in her role as the wife of the President.

Born on September 21, 1960, to an Itsekiri mother and a Yoruba father, Mrs. Tinubu holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Ife.

Throughout her career, she has pursued further education by undertaking several courses in various higher institutions.

Mrs. Tinubu's previous roles include serving as the wife of the Lagos State Governor between 1999 and 2007. Following her time as the First Lady of Lagos State, she was elected Senator representing Lagos Central in the Senate. During her tenure, she executed numerous philanthropic activities to alleviate the plight of vulnerable people in her constituency, demonstrating her commitment to serving the people.

In addition to her involvement in governance and public service, Mrs. Tinubu is a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the political party that played a pivotal role in bringing her husband to power as Nigeria's President.
