Tinubu Made 21 Appointments Having One Igbo As A Service Chief- Ike Abonji

The sudden retirement of all service chiefs by President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday marked a significant restructuring of the country's security structure.

Rear Admiral E. A. Ogalla, who would succeed Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo as the Chief of Naval Staff, is one of the military personnel appointed.

Mixed views have been expressed over the appointments.

Ike Abonji, a well-known Nigerian journalist, claimed in today's newspaper that one Igbo appointment out of 21 appointments is insufficient.

He claims that because Buhari marginalized the Igbos, some people are applauding Tinubu for the position.

Hear him. "On June 19, Tinubu appointed two for one, with an Igbo serving as the service chief, and some people are praising this because it shows how far Buhari's usage of nepotism has fallen. The hailers of today appear to have forgotten that an armed robber's charitable use of his stolen goods does not justify his crime. Abonji made a statement in today's New Telegraph article.
