Former Kaduna lawmaker, Sen Shehu Sani, has taken to Twitter to list what the National Assembly must do before approving the N500 Billion requested by President Bola Tinubu for palliatives to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

Sani stated that the National Assembly should demand an item-by-item breakdown of the amount.

He urged the parliament to ask President Bola Tinubu who is going to be in charge of the money and which agency of government will handle the funds.

Sani also asked the national assembly to inquire from the executive how the fund is going to be disbursed, saying that the questions are for transparency and to avoid the past fiasco in the Ministry of Humanitarian and Social Development.

He wrote: “Before the approval of the N500Billion Presidential request for the palliative, the National Assembly need to demand the item by item Breakdown of the figures; who is going to be in charge of the money; which agency of Government will handle the funds and how it’s going to be disbursed. This is for transparency and to avoid the past humanitarian ministry fiasco.”
