Kaduna NNPP guber candidate, Senator Hukuyi, dumps party

The governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kaduna State in the 2023 general elections, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, has dumped the party.


The former Kaduna North Senator made this known in a letter of withdrawal of membership of NNPP sent to Hukuyi ward chairman, Kudan Local Government Area of Kaduna.


The former governorship candidate, who also conveyed his withdrawal of NNPP membership in a press statement on Saturday, hinged his decision on the crisis rocking the party.


The obtained by PlatinumPost reads in full : “Having considered the major activities and events trending in the NNPP recently, particularly decisions of the leadership of the NNPP at the highest levels.



” Also considering the confusion trailing the power tussles bordering on gross abuse of powers by the powers that be within the higher echelon of the party. The Clarion calls from different quarters of my esteemed followership particularly in my dear State of Kaduna.


“I humbly, wish to announce my decision to relinguish and withdraw my membership of the party.


” I have communicated same to my ward leadership of whose authority my membership exist in accordance with the NNPP Constitution and the Electoral Act.


“To my esteemed well-wishers and NNPP followers who have reached out to me on the need for this, I say thank you.


” To my esteemed followers who received this decision as unexpected, I say my apologies.


“For those who intend to remain within the fold of the NNPP, I have no issue, For those willing to walk the silky way of Politics along with me, I say they are welcome, While I solute those who feel it’s a wrong decision, by respecting thier opnion.


“We shall communicate to our followership adequately as events unfold with times to come.”
