Terrorists talk tough, vow to kill Abuja captives over ransom delay

The kidnappers of 17 people in Kawu village, Bwari Area Council, FCT, have threatened to kill the remaining 11 victims who are being kidnapped since their families have failed to pay their ransom money and a brand-new Bajaj motorcycle.

City & Crime reported that bandits stormed Kawu on January 11, 2024, and took away 18 people, including a couple, the children of Kawu’s District Head, and a female nurse.

However, the bandits on Monday, January 22, 2024, freed four of the victims after N5m was given to them and held back 11 of them in their captivity.

Speaking with our reporter on Sunday, a family member of four of the victims, Bala Danjuma, said the bandits’ leader called on Saturday morning and threatened to kill the remaining 11 victims over delay in paying their ransom.

The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, was yet to reply to an SMS sent to her phone.
