10 things you should know about late legendary Nollywood actor, Amaechi Muonagor


Amaechi Muonagor was a Nigerian actor, director and producer. He was known for his unique roles in movies such as Igodo, Code of Silence, and My Village People.

Here are the 10 things you should know about Late Amaechi Muonagor:

1. Muonagor was born August 20, 1962 in Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State where he hailed from.

2. Muonagor attended the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1987.

3. Muonagor started his career as a reporter for the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in 1989, after finishing his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

4. Muonagor made his official debut in the film industry in 1989, when he performed the character of Chief Akunatakasi in the movie “Taboo”.

5. Muonagor rose to fame in 1999 when he starred in the epic film Igodo, which is considered one of the best productions in Nollywood history.

6. Muonagor acted in many films and played a variety of roles, most of them as a cruel and evil character.

7. Muonagor was the founder and chief executive officer of the film production firm Amaechi Muonagor Productions. He was also the founder of a non-profit organization called the Amaechi Muonagor Foundation, which provides scholarships to needy students and supports various charitable causes.

8. In 2016, Muonagor was nominated for AMVCA 2017 Best Actor In a Comedy.

9. In 2023, it was reported that Muonagor suffered a stroke that left him half paralyzed. He is currently receiving treatment in the hospital and is seeking financial assistance from Nigerians to pay for his medical expenses.

10. On March, 2024 Muonagor died 

after a prolonged battle with kidney failure.
