Army withdraws from Banex Plaza after week-long closure

After a week of closure, Banex Plaza in Abuja has finally reopened its doors. Operations resumed at 2:30 pm today, Monday, May 27th.

The plaza was previously closed due to clashes between soldiers and traders. However, after a series of negotiations, the traders involved in the altercation with military personnel have reached a resolution with the authorities, allowing the plaza to reopen.

The initial closure followed a dramatic incident where members of the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police stormed the plaza, engaging in physical confrontations with passersby and security guards.

This action was a response to an earlier confrontation between four military police personnel and traders within the bustling electronics and telecommunications market.

With the issues now resolved, business at Banex Plaza is set to return to normal, bringing relief to traders and customers alike.
