Premier League: Arteta names key player who could’ve reshaped Arsenal’s title chances

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, recently disclosed that Tottenham’s star player, Son Heung-min, is the Premier League player he believes could have altered the course of Arsenal’s title ambitions this season.

As Arsenal prepares for a crucial final game against Everton, their title hopes hinge on an external factor: West Ham must defeat Manchester City to open a path for Arsenal to break their two-decade title drought.

Manchester City’s recent 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur has put them two points clear of Arsenal.

Should City triumph over West Ham at the Etihad Stadium, they will secure the Premier League title once again.

Reflecting on the current situation, Arteta acknowledged that Arsenal’s position could have been stronger. During City’s clash with Tottenham, Son had a critical chance to equalize after intercepting a pass from Manuel Akanji. However, his attempt was thwarted by City’s goalkeeper, Stefan Ortega.

In the lead-up to Arsenal’s decisive match against Everton, Arteta expressed his admiration for Son’s talent. “If I had to choose one player in the Premier League for that moment, it would have been him [Son],” Arteta stated, drawing a parallel to Michael Jordan’s ability to perform under pressure, highlighting the unpredictability and allure of sports.

“The opportunity was there, but it didn’t materialize. Now, we must focus on our task, which is challenging as Everton is currently in good form,” Arteta concluded.
