In preparation for the commissioning of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX), also known as Mahammadou Issoufou Way, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has announced road traffic diversions.
The new expressway extends from Villa Roundabout (near the Power House Junction) to Ring Road 1 Junction (Apo Roundabout).
To facilitate this event, road traffic diversions will be implemented on Monday, June 3, 2024, starting at 11 a.m.
The diversions will affect several key routes, including the road from the FCT Fire Service at Villa Gate, Maitama Sule Junction, Yakubu Gowon Crescent, the New Dantata Bridge by FCT Police Command, and Ring Road 1 Junction at Apo Roundabout.
According to a statement signed by Dr Abdoulateef Bello of the Directorate of Road Traffic Services, the alternative route for motorists will be via Guzape Road at the SARS Junction, from Abacha Barracks to Yakubu Gowon Crescent, and then towards Murtala Mohammed Expressway.
