APC chairmen applaud Ganduje, Okocha, hail Wike’s achievements
The Forum of All Progressives Congress (APC) State Chairmen has expressed appreciation for the leadership of Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the party, particularly for the extension of the caretaker committee of the Rivers State APC, under the leadership of Tony Okocha.
The APC chairmen further resolved to send an official letter of commendation to Ganduje, lauding his decision to uphold the Rivers APC Executive Committee’s stance, which resulted in the suspension of the previous leadership under Emeka Beke.
Beke’s suspension was also reinforced by a court ruling from the Rivers State High Court.
Speaking at a press conference held on Thursday at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, Forum Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi and Secretary Alphonsus Eba voiced their support for the changes in Rivers APC leadership.
They also acknowledged the impressive performance of Tony Okocha’s team, which has revitalized the Rivers State chapter of the party over the last seven months.
“The work of Chief Tony Okocha’s leadership has reinvigorated the Rivers APC, making it one of the most active and resilient state chapters,” the Forum stated. “His dynamic leadership has breathed new life into the party, which had previously been plagued by inactivity and division leading up to the 2023 elections.”
The Forum also took the opportunity to commend the remarkable performance of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
They praised his achievements in infrastructure, security, and human capital development, describing his contributions as highly visible and impactful.
“We extend our deep appreciation to Minister Wike for his outstanding work as a member of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. His efforts are a testament to his dedication to the growth of the country,” the statement read.
Additionally, the Forum highlighted the pivotal role played by various actors within the Rivers APC in securing the party’s success during the 2023 presidential election. Rivers State was notably the only South-South state where the APC secured a victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a result attributed to the collective efforts and support for the principle of fair play and power rotation.
The Forum vowed to continue fostering dialogue to strengthen democratic values, promote unity within the party, and resolve any lingering issues in its various chapters.
