VP Shettima arrives in New York for UN General Assembly

Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in New York to represent Nigeria at the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

According to a statement from his spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport early Monday morning.

He was greeted by a delegation including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani; and the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, alongside Nigerian diplomats and UN officials.

As directed by President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Shettima will lead Nigeria’s delegation at the assembly, where he is expected to deliver Nigeria’s national statement and engage in various high-level discussions on global issues.

His participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to international diplomacy and multilateral cooperation.
