Terrorists invade Katsina community, gun down 2, abduct APC chairman, 13 others

Suspected terrorists have attacked Dan Auta vill899age in Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing two individuals and abducting 14 others, including the local All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman, Alhaji Imamu. Among those kidnapped were women and children.

The assault, which took place around 2 a.m. on Friday, claimed the life of a member of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC).

Eyewitnesses disclosed that the attackers, riding in large numbers on motorcycles and wielding automatic weapons, stormed the village and took several residents hostage.

Local vigilantes and members of the KSCWC reportedly attempted to repel the attack but were outnumbered and overpowered by the heavily armed assailants.

Some residents sustained injuries during the invasion and are receiving medical attention at the local primary healthcare center.

Attempts to reach the Katsina State Police Command for confirmation were unsuccessful as at the time of filing the report.
