Nigerian musician Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has reportedly been arrested by the Nigerian Police in Owerri, Imo State.

The news was confirmed by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, through a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday morning.

Details surrounding the arrest are still unclear, and no specific charges have been disclosed, fueling speculation among fans and the public.

He wrote, “Our client Speed Darlington, a.k.a. AKPI, has been arrested by the Nigerian police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria.”

He added that his arrest occurred during his return to Nigeria for a show.

The reasons for Darlington’s arrest remained unclear at the time of filing this report.

Recall that Speed Darlington was arrested on October 4 by the Nigerian police for allegedly cyberstalking fellow musician Burna Boy.

He was, however, released on bail on October 9 after spending five days in detention.
