Popular hausa singer, El-mu’az Birniwa, is dead

The Kannywood industry has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of renowned Hausa singer and actor, El-Mu’az Muhammad Birniwa.

The tragic news was confirmed by Abba El-Mustapha, Executive Secretary of the Kano State Censorship Board, in a Facebook post early Thursday, December 5, 2024.

El-Mu’az reportedly collapsed while playing football in Kaduna on Wednesday and was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The funeral prayer has been scheduled for 1:00 PM on Thursday at the Zangon Daura mosque in Kaduna.

Hailing from Birniwa in Jigawa State, El-Mu’az was celebrated for his significant contributions to the growth of the Kannywood industry. His artistry and dedication to promoting Hausa culture through music and film left an indelible mark, making his passing a great loss to the entertainment world and his community.
