Njideka Kings Foundation Trains, Distributes Over 25 Brand New Clippers To Empower Youths
At least 25 young Nigerians and women have benefitted from an empowerment initiative launched by a non-governmental organisation, Njideka Kings Foundation, where barbing tools including brand new clippers were distributed.
The project is aimed at building the capacity of the beneficiaries through training on high-demand skills to equip them for self-reliance and empower them to contribute to the growth of nation's economy as they have opportunity to decent livelihood.
It is in advancement of the Foundation's core objective of building children to become useful members of the society. It saw them undergo training in barbing after which they also practically displayed what they have learnt during the training period.
The exercise at Lugbe community in Abuja saw at least 25 beneficiaries walk home with brand new clippers and other materials that will help them become self-employed especially as they return to school.
In her address, the Founder of the Foundation, Njideka Kings praised the commitment and efforts of the beneficiaries and the resource persons who coached them in barbing skills, highlighting the importance of empowering women and children to drive change and human capital development.
“The women and children are the heart of our communities and empowering them means empowering the future of our communities. With this support, we are not just giving them clippers and materials, we are giving them the tools to rebuild and strengthen their entrepreneurial abilities despite the challenges we face. I thank my family, friends and all the donors for recognizing the potential of our women and children and investing in their growth", she said.
Some of the parents and guardians who spoke at the ceremony could not hide their excitement as they thanked the Foundation and the founder for the opportunity given to their children and wards to make a meaningful livelihood.
