Princess Orelope-Adefulire Celebrates Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi at 89

Prominent Nigerians have paid glowing tributes to Alhaji Prince (Dr.) Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, MON, OON, as he marked his 89th birthday on October 10, 2025.

In a heartfelt message, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Her Excellency Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, described the nonagenarian as “a statesman of rare integrity” whose life has been defined by service, leadership, and enduring impact.

Orelope-Adefulire, in her felicitation letter, lauded the Chairman of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) for his unwavering dedication to community development, youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and good governance.

She noted that Alhaji Olusi’s long years of public service and mentorship have shaped several leaders in Lagos and beyond, adding that his humility, wisdom, and patriotism continue to inspire generations.

The presidential aide further highlighted Olusi’s national and academic recognitions, including his National Honours of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) and Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), as well as the Honorary Doctorate Degree recently conferred on him by Lagos State University (LASU) in recognition of his contributions to education, history, and national development.

“As you mark this remarkable milestone, may Almighty God continue to bless you with strength, wisdom, and inner peace,” Orelope-Adefulire wrote. “Your life has been a blessing to countless people and a gift to our nation.”

Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, a respected elder statesman and political leader, has been at the forefront of Lagos politics for decades, known for his principled leadership and devotion to public good. 

His 89th birthday celebration drew warm felicitations from across political, traditional, and social circles in Nigeria and beyond.
