By-election results a referendum on Tinubu’s presidency – Lagos APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has described the outcome of the recent by-elections as a clear endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and policies.
In a statement issued in Ogba, Lagos, by its spokesman, Seye Oladejo, the party expressed gratitude to voters in Rivers State, Kano State, the Federal Capital Territory, and across the country for their strong support during the polls.
According to the party, the victories recorded by APC candidates across the affected constituencies amount to an unmistakable vote of confidence in Tinubu’s administration and its Renewed Hope Agenda. It said the results reflect public approval of ongoing economic reforms, infrastructure development and institutional strengthening at both federal and state levels.
The statement noted that despite criticisms and opposition narratives about the direction of the country, Nigerians had spoken decisively through the ballot. It added that the electorate recognises bold leadership and understands that sustainable nation-building requires consistency and courage.
The Lagos APC further argued that the by-election outcomes exposed what it described as the weakness of the opposition, accusing them of relying on rhetoric and social media campaigns rather than presenting credible alternatives. It maintained that online popularity does not equate to electoral success, stressing that democracy is determined at the ballot box, not on digital platforms.
The party suggested that if the current momentum is sustained, the 2027 general elections could strongly favour the ruling APC, citing what it called growing public trust in the administration’s performance.
It also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting the elections and praised security agencies for ensuring a peaceful process.
Reaffirming its support for President Tinubu, the Lagos chapter of the APC pledged continued commitment to strengthening democracy, party unity and delivering governance that benefits all Nigerians.
