JAMB releases another withheld UTME results

The recent release of an additional 36,540 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) comes as a relief to many candidates awaiting their scores.

This move follows the earlier release of 531 results, bringing the total number of released results to 1,879,437.

In a statement issued in Abuja by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the board’s Public Communication Advisor, JAMB addressed false claims circulating on social media.

The statement refuted a fictitious letter alleging a cybersecurity breach and the compromise of 2024 UTME results, leading to considerations of rescheduling the examination.

The board clarified that such claims were baseless and emphasized the integrity of its operational processes. It assured candidates that their results were secure and not susceptible to hacking.

Regarding the withheld results, JAMB explained that a thorough investigation was underway, with 531 results already released. The board remains committed to ensuring fairness and integrity in the examination process and urged the public to disregard misleading information.

Additionally, JAMB addressed concerns raised by some private institutions regarding ‘cut-off marks’. It clarified that institutions themselves determine minimum admissible scores, subject to collective agreement during the annual Policy Meeting on Admissions.

Lastly, JAMB appealed to religious organizations to refrain from undue interference in matters beyond their purview, urging them to uphold their primary roles.

As JAMB continues to uphold transparency and fairness in the examination process, candidates and stakeholders can rest assured of the board’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the UTME results.
