A tragic incident unfolded in Maitama, Abuja, on Friday night, as gunmen fatally shot Khalid Bichi, a Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) employee.
Reports indicate that Bichi, a middle-aged man, was attacked around 8:30 pm while on an outing to procure food.
He succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds on his chest and leg, despite being rushed to Maitama General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Known for his active presence on social media as @Khalid Bichi, he was said to have connections with influential politicians, the Nation reported Saturday.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, confirmed that the police are actively investigating the incident.
Bichi was laid to rest on Saturday afternoon following a funeral prayer at the Abuja National Mosque. The motive behind the attack remains unclear as investigations continue into this tragic loss.
